It is finally drying up here after all the rain we've had. The last few days have been sunny and hot and it is wonderful. Unfortunately, I'm not enjoying it as much as I should because I caught a cold from the kids and I'm still fighting it off. But soon I will be better.
In my last post I put up pictures from my little house and as you may have noticed, it has two windows. From the window by my bed, I can see the treeline of their woods as well as the pond and the back fields in front of that. From the window over the table, I can see the house, laundry line, a nice big tree and in the distance the nearby lake. So my views are pretty nice!
Tonight there is a barn dance in a nearby town that we will go to which should be pretty fun but it will make for a late night. Hopefully my cold doesn't slow me down too much. And tomorrow we plan on taking it easy and going down to Long Creek to swim and relax so it should be a good weekend overall.
I took a few more pictures this week and here they are.
A basket full of dirty eggs. Notice the huge one at the top right of the picture. It weighed 119 lbs!
And now for some pictures of our turkeys:

And now the sheep:

Lambs!

The following two pictures are of the hoop houses where the chickens (the Meat Kings that we will be butchering) live:

Do you remember those cute litte fuzzy chicks? Well this is what they look like now:

And last but not least, here are some pictures of the cat that likes me and sometimes follows me around when I do chores. I have named him Jaques but often just call him "kitten".

Here he wants to get into the chick brooder. He knows there is tasty meat inside!

And here he is sitting on the sandbox waiting for me to get back from feeding the pigs.

Note the extra toes he has on his front paws. This farm has a couple cats like this.
Well, that's it for now. I hope you enjoyed the pictures!
I love all of the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better.

Cute pictures Megan! They give me a sense of what you're doing and what everything looks like. It's great. But did the egg really weigh 119 lbs? That is my question :D
