Hello again! I have now been here at Cedar Lane farm for almost a week. Last time I added in my possible schedule while I am here and it looked like I was going to have pretty early mornings. Fortunately they are not too early yet. Right now I get up at around 6:15 am so that I am ready to start chores at 7 am. My chores include feeding and bringing water to pigs (which are very funny animals and probably one of my favourites), another set of pigs, two different hen houses, one set of chickens out on the field, and some cute little chicks in a little hut. I also collect the eggs in the henhouses. It is more work than you might think because these animals are spread across the farm and so I have to haul buckets of feed and sometimes water all over the place. I do these chores again in the evening (well, around 4 pm so we are done by supper time). Terry also then feeds the sheep and lambs and milks (by hand) the 3 milk cows that they have (this takes him only about 45 minutes). The day is never quite the same and I have done many differnt things including washing eggs, fixing fences, moving cows to a different field, getting young chickens out into the field from their little house that they grew up in, going to market, visiting the nearby town of Sussex, and playing with kids (Terry and Monique have 2 kids named Isabel [almost 4] and Peter [almost 2] who are very very cute). The area around here is very beautiful and hilly and their house looks out onto part of a river but I do still long for a good flat field from the prairies sometimes. Perhaps that will never change for me.
Well, soon it is time for bed for me, so I should tie this up. Sometime I will try to tell you about how amusing pigs and hens can be. I'm also not sure what you all want to know so let me know if you have specific questions.
Peace
Megan!! you crazy girl. sounds like you're having fun, but that it's also a lot of hard work. you're going to come back all buff and tanned, just like planting. miss you!

That sounds so awesome Megan!! I am glad you seem to be doing really good out there. So, When do your actual evenings start and how much free time would you say you have in a day? What would you do during your free time?
